They stand quietly, gazing at me with gentle curiosity. I gaze back and find myself mentally slowing down and breathing deeper. It feels almost like meditation. The horses are just hanging out, being themselves, but their gaze is attentive and accepting. By some mysterious process, they transfer their calmness to me. ~ Karen Branz Leach, Texas Co-op Power, July, 2008

When I look into the eyes of an animal, I do not see an animal. I see a living being. I see a friend. I feel a soul. ~A.D. Williams

Oreo, EGI
My name is OREO, short for GMC Supreme Cookies 'n Cream...don't ya think that "Oreo" is a lot better than all that other name! I'm a filly, which means I'm a girl. My mom found me in Kileen, Tx, where I was living as a foal with some other miniature horses. I'm a black and white pinto, and my left eye is blue...isn't that awesome! I love to be petted under my mane, and I love to be brushed. Would you like to brush me when we meet? See ya soon! Neigh!!
Copper, EGI
Hi, Everybody! My name is Copper, which is short for "RCA Brave Knight's Copper Cowboy." As you can tell from my picture, I'm a flashy sorrel and white pinto, and I'm a gelding...that means I'm a boy. My now-mom rescued my half-brother and me from a farm with too many other horses. I LOVE my life now...lots of attention, and good hay to eat, and sometimes I even get to ride in the mini-van that my mom has! Yup...I can fit into a minivan...you should see me! I love it when someone lifts up my mane and pets me on my neck! Would you like to pet me when we meet? Hope to see you soon! Whinny!!
Cowboy, EGI
Whinny! Neigh! (That's "Hi Y'all" in horse talk.) My name is Cowboy, which is short for "RCA Brave Knight's Blue-Eyed Cowboy." I'm Copper's half-brother! If you look at Copper's name and my name, there's a clue that we have the same sire (dad). Did you find the clue? Our sire is Brave Knight. I'm a gelding like Copper. My mom says that I'm really handsome, because I have four high white stockings (I pretend they're cowboy boots), and a white "English saddle" marking in the middle of my back. I'm a silver dappled pinto! Ok, what color are my eyes? I'll help you out...look at the color of my halter! Yup! Would you like to pet me and see my blue eyes? I'd love to meet you, and have you pet me just under my mane. Hope to see you soon!
Little Man, EGI
Hello! I'm Little Man's Sea Biscuit, but you can call me "Little Man" or "Biscuit!" My now-mom found me in Boerne, Tx, living on a wonderful miniature horse ranch. I've celebrated my 5th birthday, so I'm the old-man in this herd of mini horses...I'm also the smallest! Tiny but mighty, ya know!! I'm a buckskin gelding, which means that I'm a light khaki color with black mane, tail, and eyes, and I have four black socks on my legs...my mom says that I'm very handsome, and I would have to agree with her! I love working with Magical Muzzles and Manes...it's so much fun, that it's really not work at all! I mean, I love to be brushed and petted! When you meet me, you'll see what I mean!! See ya soon!!
Tuff, EGI, New Mexico
Howdy! I'm Tuff, and I'm a golden palomino gelding, and I think that I'm about 5 years old. I learned to say "Howdy!" because I was born on a ranch in Chappel Hill, TX, which is just a few miles from Texas A&M University, and the Aggies there are always saying "Howdy!" My now-mom found me and my best buddy, Bid, when she was living in the College Station area...we were only about 8-9 months old then. We all now live in the Farmington - Aztec, Four Corners area of New Mexico. It gets really, really cold here with lots of snow (we're in the mountains)...so I always grow a nice thick, furry coat in winter so I can stay warm...you should see me!! I love meeting new people with Magical Muzzles and Manes. Mom calls it our work, but I think it's a whole lot of fun whatever it's called!! See you soon in Farmington, Ship Rock, Aztec, or just about anywhere in New Mexico's Four Corners area! Gig'Um!...those Texas Aggies are always saying "Gig'um!"...whatever that means!!
Bid, EGI, New Mexico
Neigh! Neigh!! My name is Bid, and I'm a bay gelding. I think that I'm about 5 years old, just like Tuff. Our human mom bought us at the same time, from a very nice miniature horse ranch in Chappell Hill, TX. I now live with Tuff & my human mom in New Mexico's Four Corners area. My human mom has a 12-year-old grandson and I really like it when he brushes me and takes care of me! He says that I'm his horse, which is great because then I get to have two humans to love me!! I'm growing a really thick fur coat just like Tuff, and I like mine better than his, because my coat is very dark...like night time! Don't you just love my big brown eyes?? My human mom says that I'm very, very handsome, and from people's reactions to me, I have to believe her!! In winter, we get to play in a whole bunch
of snow!! It's really, really cold up here in the mountains of New Mexico...I like my thick fur coat in winter; no faux fur for me!! Autumn, CGC
Woof! Woof! My name is Autumn, and I'm a golden retriever. I've just celebrated my 12th birthday, and I've had to take special medicine because I use to have seizures, but I haven't had an "episode" in years, I consider myself totally healthy...as long as I stay on my medicine like the veterinarian says! Do you have to take medicine like I do? I also have a knee that bothers me some...but I don't let that stop me, especially when there's someone to toss a tennis ball for me to retrieve! I've been certified as an animal assisted activity (pet therapy) dog since I was about a year old...I like to make visits to hospitals, pediatric units, and all kinds of neat places with my mom or my best buddy, David. I really love going on visits...I can usually tell when I'm supposed to be "working," but to me it's so much fun that I don't think it's work t all! Hope to see you soon!
Kodiak,CGC,
New Mexico
Ruff, Ruff!! I'm Kodiak, and I'm a Landseer Newfoundland, which means that I'm a black and white (bi-colored) Newfie with a showy black head...pretty darn handsome, huh!! My mom named me after the Kodiak bears because I'm going to be about the size of a bear when I'm full grown, she says! Mom and I work together with Magical Muzzles and Manes in New Mexico!! Mom says that I'm very good-natured, and that I really, really like to meet new people!! I have to tell you that one of my favorite activities in the whole world is to go swimming in rivers...I even have webbed feet to help me swim!! When I'm pooped from all my activities, I like to roll over and sleep on my back...isn't that funny!? Ruff, Ruff!!
Panache , trainee
Bow Wow! My name is Panache, and I'm a chocolate and white standard parti-poodle. My French name means "plume." Do you see the white plume on my forehead? I'm working hard to become sophisticated...well, well-mannered anyway. My mom sometimes calls me "'Nachee," and I like that! I have to admit that I get so excited sometimes that I may seem "goofy," but please be patient, 'cause I'm young and still learning my manners. I'm in training to become an animal assisted activities (pet therapy) dog, and I just can't wait until I earn my CGC title. Oh, I have webbed feet like Kodiak, because poodles are water retrievers, and the webbing helps us swim better! See ya
soon!! Bow Wow! Gracie Clare Parfait, trainee
Bark! Bark! I'm Gracie Clare, and I'm a chocolate and white standard tuxedo parti-poodle. I'm a tuxedo parti because the chocolate markings on my back look just like a tuxedo jacket ...so I guess you could say that I'm always ready to party! Since I'm a poodle, my feet are webbed like Kodiak's and Panache's. I was born in Missouri, and lived with another family until I was about 10 months old, and then I was given back to my breeder. When I was with my first family, I mysteriously fell down a flight of stairs and broke my right hind leg. A veterinarian orthopedist, that my now-mom took me to see, said that my leg was never fixed when it was broken.. My leg doesn't hurt, and it certainly doesn't slow me down when I'm on squirrel-patrol in the back yard...it just looks a little different! My breeder gave me to my now-mom so that I could be an animal assisted activities (pet therapy) dog, and it was love-at-first-sight for my mom and me! My now-mom says that I'll be perfect as an ambassador with Magical Muzzles and Manes, 'cause I can show people what you can do even when your body isn't perfect! I absolutely love to be petted, and I'll put my muzzle in your hands or against your leg to make it easier for you to scratch behind my ears or to pat my chest...I'm a real people-dog, and I can't wait to meet you! Bye for now!
Bark! Bark! Patches, trainee
Okay...enough with the dog sounds! My name is Patches! I'm a black and white toy parti-poodle! Guess what! I only weigh 4 pounds, so I can easily sit in your lap. No; I'm not a teacup poodle! My mom says that I may be tiny, but I have a big personality!! I can bark as loud as the bigger dogs I live with, but I'm learning to be quiet when my mom tells me to...it's really hard sometimes because I always have so much to say!! You should see me when I get really excited...I sort of strut and bounce at the same time when I walk...kinda like a jumping bean! I love to curl up in a people-lap to take a nap. It takes lots of energy to be me, because every day is such fun, and I love to play! I hope that we can meet some day, and maybe play a little! Yes; since I'm a poodle, I have webbed feet too! See ya soon! Arf! Arf!
